I'm still marvelling at how variable each moment is here on this walk. The landscape can change radically around every corner, there are different pilgrims to talk to everywhere I go, and the weather is wildly unpredictable. Everyday Is like a banquet of fresh sights, smells, tastes and sounds. How fun is that?!
As it turns out, I'm a fast walker and have been comfortable doing between 20 and 30 kms a day so far. I hope to cover more soon, but it's tough finding a place to stay overnight right now, so its safer to check into an auberge in the early afternoon. I'm lucky to have found my charming walking mates who have similar patterns. I've left a few lovely folks behind, but I'm sure I'll meet new ones.
It's quite a bit colder here than I had anticipated and I will have to buy some extra clothes. But otherwise, I feel like I have all the right gear and am feeling strong.
