Another Excellent Day

Our little troop (which seems to grow by the day) is now all showered and relaxing in a really nice albergues in Pamplona. After last night's accommodations, this is like the Ritz Carleton... Interesting how little it takes to make us happy after we've done without for awhile!

The trek today was thoroughly enjoyable. It only hit about 11 degrees and the footpath was muddy and treacherous, but thankfully it didn't rain at all.

At points along the trail It's hard to believe so many people have walked before us. It's just a muddy little footpath that seems to wind aimlessly between farmers' fields and alongside rushing rivers. every now and then a little collection of homes and an ancient church pops up to delight us. typically the village provides a much appreciated water fountain. All the flowering trees and bushes are blooming and there are windflowers growing everywhere. It smells like heaven. There are roosters crowing in the morning and cowbells and birdsong till nightfall. Yup, this is my idea of fun!

(I wish I has better photos to share, but I'm taking most of them on my good camera. The only ones you'll see here are from my iPhone)
